About the Author
Rabbi Dr. Alter B.Z. Metzger is a professor of Jewish Studies at Stern College. He has written widely on chasidic thought and and history. A dynamic speaker and teacher, Rabbi Metzger is in demand as a lecturer. He served on a team of simultaneous translators of the talks of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, for 18 years. His column, The Golden Chain has been featured for over 25 years in Di Yiddishe Heim , published by the Lubavitch Women`s Organization, a division of Machne Israel. Rabbi Metzger resides in Brooklyn.
